JP Logistics Joins Slate Auto at Private EV Showcase in Long Beach

When you're in the business of transporting the most valuable vehicles on the road, you pay close attention to what’s next in automotive innovation. That’s exactly why we were invited to an exclusive, invite-only unveiling of the new Slate electric pickup at a private hangar at Long Beach Airport on April 24, 2025.

With its sleek modular design and game-changing affordability, the Slate EV promises to shake up the electric vehicle market, and naturally, it caught our attention. At JP Logistics, we don’t just move high-end cars – we stay engaged with the future of mobility. Our team met with Slate Auto’s executives to explore how this forward-thinking vehicle could be delivered to the kinds of discerning clients we serve every day. What we saw was more than just a new truck – it was a bold step toward accessible innovation.

A private look at the Slate EV

The reveal took place at a private hangar inside Long Beach Airport on April 24, 2025 – an exclusive and tightly curated event that matched the ambitious tone of what was being presented. From the outset, it was clear that Slate Auto is approaching the electric vehicle market with fresh ideas and bold confidence.

What set the Slate pickup apart immediately was its adaptable design. Built on a modular platform, the vehicle can be configured as a compact pickup, a five-seat SUV, or an open-top off-road truck. The transformation process is straightforward, using manufacturer-developed kits designed to match factory precision. At a projected starting price under $27,500, and likely even less with federal incentives, this EV stands out in a segment often dominated by higher-priced options with less flexibility.

Our perspective on Slate's innovation

JP Logistics has built its reputation transporting some of the most valuable and unique vehicles on the road. From exotic supercars to rare classics and next-generation EVs, we stay ahead by understanding how automotive design continues to evolve. Slate’s approach to functionality and accessibility immediately stood out to us. The idea that one vehicle can serve multiple lifestyles, as a commuter, family hauler, and weekend adventurer, is both practical and forward-thinking.

Our Founder and President George Sukunyan, shared his impressions:
"Love the concept and the idea behind Slate. It will allow consumers who can’t afford high-end electric cars to still enjoy everything an EV has to offer. The mobility of the build and the concept of being able to shift from pickup to SUV to open-top truck is amazing. It’s versatile, convenient, and exactly the kind of innovation this space needs."

While at the event, we connected with Slate’s leadership to discuss their logistics needs and how our team could assist in transporting these vehicles to discerning clients across the country. Many of our clients expect a high standard of care, from the first pickup to the final delivery. As a company focused on secure, enclosed transport, we see opportunities to support companies such as Slate in bringing their vehicles to market with the attention and detail that modern EV buyers expect.

Preparing for the future of EV transport

As electric vehicles continue to reshape the auto industry, the logistics behind their delivery is becoming just as critical as the design itself. EVs present new challenges (and new opportunities) for transport companies that specialize in enclosed handling. Our trailers are custom-built to accommodate vehicles with unique shapes and dimensions, and our team is trained in soft strapping, liftgate operation, and precise vehicle loading techniques.

JP Logistics also offers premium vehicle storage in key cities including Los Angeles, Scottsdale, Miami, and Fairfield, NJ. These facilities are designed for long-term security and optimal vehicle conditions, ideal for owners awaiting delivery, seasonal use, or resale preparation. With the Slate pickup poised to enter production, our infrastructure is already in place to meet the demands of a new generation of EV buyers.
